How Your Payment Is Protected

Checkout is secured by Shopify's encrypted SSL technology. Full card details are never stored. Only the last four digits of a card number, along with billing and shipping information, are accessible for the purpose of order processing and verification.

Authorization and Charge Timing

When an order is placed, a temporary authorization hold is placed on the payment method for the full order amount. This hold is not a completed charge. It is a verification step. For example, an order totaling $1,500 will show a $1,500 authorization on a bank statement. The actual charge is only finalized once the order has been confirmed with the supplier and prepared for dispatch.

This process creates a brief window, typically a few hours, during which an order may be modified or canceled. If canceled within that window, the authorization will be voided and the hold released by the issuing bank.
